Description
This kinematic, Maxwell style bed mounting assembly, designed by whoppingpochard.
This an alternative printer bed mounting mechanism to the currently rigid mounted bed used in the Voron 2 where the cast aluminium plate is secured to the frame by M3 socket head cap screws through 4 knurled nuts acting as stand offs.
When the plate is heated up, the result is expansion, however the restriction of the four tight screws acts to restrict this resulting the plate bowing in another direction, upwards.
Using kinematic mounting the bed is allowed to expand evenly and uniformly and in a way that does not compromise flatness to allow you to lay down more consistent first layers across the entirety of your build area.
